Launched in 2007 Sporting Fingal is a unique project combining a progressive local authority Fingal County Council with the business world and the local community.
The original plan was to enter a team in the new A Division of the Eircom league and work towards promotion to the 1st Division within 2 years.With the resignation of Kilkenny City from the league a window of opportunity opened for Sporting Fingal to enter 1st Division immediately and bring their plans forward.
Sporting Fingal will be a Club that the whole of the Fingal community can call their own,the purpose built stadium currently in the pipeline will cater for and be accessible to all Clubs/Players/Managers/Coaches in the area and the Academy involving local leagues will be a milestone for childrens soccer in the Fingal CC catchment area.Congratulations is due to all those involved in ensuring this project got off the ground,people like John O'Brien FCC,Gerry Gannon Gannon Construction,major sponsors like Keelings Fruit (who are one of the largest employers in the Fingal area) Anglo Irish Bank and Liffey Developments.
